Shillong, Oct 10: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has expressed condolences to Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang and his family following the untimely demise of his son, Kuchiheing Rangkau Zeliang, popularly known as Kuchi.
Kuchi passed away unexpectedly at a hospital in Dimapur on October 9, 2026. His death has drawn condolences from political leaders and prominent figures across the country.
Taking to social media platform X, Conrad Sangma offered prayers and support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
“My condolences to Shri @TRZeliang ji, Hon’ble Deputy CM of Nagaland on the untimely demise of his beloved son, Kuchi Rangkau Zeliang. May God strengthen him and his family as they mourn this painful loss. Thoughts and prayers for each of them,” Sangma wrote.

Kuchi was the elder son of T.R. Zeliang, who has served as both Nagaland’s chief minister and deputy chief minister. He is survived by his wife, Neitele Rangkau, and their young daughter. Beyond his family background, Kuchi was involved in youth development, entrepreneurship and sports in Nagaland.
