Shillong, Sept 28: The Centre has released ₹94.03 crore as the balance installment of the Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in Meghalaya for the 2025–26 academic session.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs sanctioned ₹94,03,38,000 to the Meghalaya government under the Centrally Sponsored Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for ST students. The amount has been released as a drawing limit under the mother sanction for the 2026–27 financial year.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced the release and thanked the Centre, while saying that the state government would work to expedite and streamline the disbursement of the scholarship to eligible students.

The sanction was issued under CSS Scheme Code 3373, with Meghalaya’s State Level Scheme code ML117.
The release follows approval from the Integrated Finance Division, with the concurrence recorded on September 15, 2026.The scholarship supports ST students pursuing education after matriculation and is intended to help meet education-related expenses.
