SHILLONG, SEPT 15: Chief Electoral Officer Dr B D R Tiwari on Tuesday said the Election Commission of India will decide the schedule for the Shillong Lok Sabha by-election after the electoral roll is ready.
Asked about the likely timing of the bypoll, Tiwari said, “It will be as and when decided by the Election Commission of India.”
He said the Commission will take a call once the revision exercise is completed.
“As per the Election Commission’s communication, it will be once after the electoral roll is ready, then the Commission may take any decision and the schedule will be announced by the Commission. So at this stage, I cannot predict anything or give any statement,” Tiwari added.
