Shillong, July 31: The Meghalaya government has withdrawn its earlier decision to establish the Rongdangai Police Outpost in South West Khasi Hills district, issuing a fresh notification denotifying the proposed facility with immediate effect.

The Home (Police) Department said the move supersedes its notification issued on November 27, 2025, which had approved the creation of the police outpost.

The latest notification, issued under the authority of the Governor of Meghalaya, was signed by Principal Secretary (Home–Police) F.R. Kharkongor.

The government, however, did not specify the reasons for scrapping the proposed police outpost. The order takes immediate effect.
