SHILLONG, APR 28: The Pynursla Civil Sub-Division administration has announced temporary daily closures of the Laitlyngkot-Lyngkyrdem road stretch for slope stabilisation works, effective from April 28.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, Additional Deputy Commissioner G Warjri said the closure along the Laitlyngkot-Lyngkyrdem section, Chainage Kms 24+00 to 37+00, will be enforced in two slots daily.
“During Daytime: 10:30-03:00 PM & During Night-time: 09:00-04:00 AM,” the notice stated.
The order follows previous orders dated March 27 and April 21, 2026, and comes after considerable slope stabilisation works carried out by the concern EPC Contractor of NHIDCL, it added.

The administration said the closure will be temporary and on a daily basis from April 28, 2026, and will remain in force until further notice.
“All traffic will be permitted to cross from both ends (i.e. Lyngkyrdem & Laitlyngkot) latest by 10:30 AM after which construction works will be started by the concerned company along the said stretch,” the notice said.
With the monsoon season setting in, the public has been advised to take precautions.

“Due to the onset of the monsoon season all commuters and members of the public are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution while commuting through this stretch and to kindly avoid taking non-essential travel during or immediately after heavy rainfall and also during night-time hours,” it said.
Emergency health services will be facilitated during closure hours. For coordination with the construction company, the public may contact the Pynursla Police Station at 6909217154, the notice added.
