SHILLONG, JAN 8: The Congress party has received applications from around 70 candidates vying for tickets in the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections, slated to be held this year.

Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Congress chief Vincent H Pala expressed the party’s readiness for the upcoming GHADC elections.

“For the GHADC elections, we have already invited applications for the last one month. Around 70 ticket aspirants have come forward, and we have to decide on this issue,” Pala said.

He further stated that the party’s decision on candidates will be taken once the election dates are announced.

“Normally, once they announce the election, we announce our candidates. We have done all the preparations also,” Pala added.
