Shillong, Sept 30: The state Cabinet on Tuesday approved the standard operating procedure (SOP) for running the Taraghar State Guest House and the Meghalaya Directorate and District Drivers’ Service Rules, 2025.
Addressing media persons after the meeting, chief minister Conrad K Sangma said the state guest house at Taraghar was recently inaugurated.
“Therefore, we have prepared a proper standard operating procedure (SOP) on how the Taraghar state’s guest house will be run, how the rooms will be allotted, to whom they will allot and overall aspects of how to run the guest house. This SOP was presented before the cabinet and it was cleared,” he added.
On the drivers service rules, Sangma said in the past many years, there has been a very aggressive approach and work by the personnel department to ensure that the service rules are in place because these directly affect the recruitment and promotion of employees and hence, having proper service rules in place is absolutely mandatory.
“In line with that today we have also cleared the Meghalaya Directorate and District Drivers’ Service Rules, 2025.”
The cabinet has also approved the holiday list of 2026. According to the CM, it is similar and in line with the holiday list of 2025.
