Pakistani nationals asked to exit Meghalaya following Centre’s directive

Shillong, April 25: Following Government of India’s decision to revoke most of the existing visas issued to Pakistani nationals and suspension of all visa services to citizens of Pakistan with immediate effect, Meghalaya has also asked Pakistani nationals to leave the state before April 26th.

An order issued by V.S. Rathore, Sr. Superintendent of Police cum Foreigners Regional Registration Officer, Ri Bhoi District, on Friday asked all Pakistani nationals except those who are on Long Term Visa and Diplomatic or Official Visa to leave the territory of India immediately on or before April 27, 2025.

The Pakistani nationals on Medical Visa are directed to leave the country on or before April 29 and those on SAARC Visa are directed to leave on or before April 26.

Failure to comply with above direction shall render such persons liable to strict action as per law including registration of criminal case, he said.

He further urged the general public to share any information on the presence of Pakistani nationals to the Police Control Room by dialing 112.
