Shillong, Dec 29: Following the circulation of a video online showing individuals injecting and using drugs, the Khasi Student’s Union (KSU) Laban Circle conducted a raid on a shelter home at Kenches Trace (Harrison Bridge), believed to be the location where the video originated.

The viral video showed individuals injecting drugs within the shelter home, indicating its involvement in illegal activities. According to the KSU, the Shelter Home has not been adequately maintained by the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) and serves as a center for various unlawful activities.

Upon identifying the area shown in the video, police personnel from Laban Police Station, conducted a raid on the shelter home.

During the raid, KSU members were also present.

Following the police raid, KSU has urged Shillong Municipal Board officials to implement stringent security measures, such as deploying security guards, to prevent such illegal activities. Additionally, KSU demands that SMB officials exercise caution and discretion when renting out properties to individuals.
