Shillong, Aug 20: In a major breakthrough, a drug trafficker was nabbed on Saturday in a swift operation by West Garo Hills district police, and heroin worth Rs. 2 crore was seized from his possession.

Taking to ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wrote, “The @MeghalayaPolice thwarted another attempt by the drug mafia to ruin our youth! In a swift operation, @wghpolice nabbed one inter-state trafficker and seized heroin worth Rs. 2 crore.

 

The operation against drugs continues to be a top priority for the Meghalaya police. The successful apprehension of the interstate trafficker and seizure of a significant amount of heroin demonstrates their fight against drug traffickers, saving youth from the clutches of the drug mafia.
