Of these, 5,64,610 Enumeration Forms have been digitized so far, accounting for 24.03% of the total electorate, Dr. Tiwari said in a status update on SIR 2026.

According to the CEO, West Jaintia Hills recorded the highest distribution at 98.94%, followed by South West Garo Hills at 97.77%, North Garo Hills at 95.12%, South West Khasi Hills at 90.37%, and East Garo Hills at 88.84%.

In terms of digitization, East Jaintia Hills leads with 41.55%, followed by South West Khasi Hills at 40.31%, Eastern West Khasi Hills at 36.73%, South West Garo Hills at 34.01%, and West Garo Hills at 33.23%.

As part of efforts to boost awareness, Dr Tiwari conducted an Awareness and Interaction Programme with Members of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in hybrid mode at the MLA Hostel Conference Hall in Shillong on July 13.

He outlined the objectives, timelines and procedures of SIR 2026 and sought the support of MLAs in encouraging eligible citizens to participate.

The CEO said weekly video conferences are also being held with District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to review progress on house-to-house distribution, digitization and other SIR activities.

Officers have been instructed to closely monitor Booth Level Officers and resolve field-level issues to ensure the exercise is completed within timelines set by the Election Commission of India.

Dr Tiwari appreciated the efforts of DEOs, EROs, AEROs, BLOs, BLO Supervisors and other election officials for their role in the implementation.

The CEO has appealed to electors who have not yet received or submitted their Enumeration Forms to cooperate with BLOs during house-to-house visits and to contact them for assistance.

“The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer once again appeals to all eligible electors to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision, 2026 and ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the Electoral Roll,” the statement said.
