Shillong, Feb 5: Security personnel stationed at Ward’s Lake on Thursday apprehended a 25-year-old man after allegedly recovering a bag containing suspected ganja from his possession as he attempted to enter the premises.
The accused has been identified as Henjakapa, a resident of the Kolasib district.
Upon intercepting him, Ward’s Lake guards and staff immediately alerted the police. A team from the local police station reached the spot, took the accused into custody, and seized the contraband.
According to police, the recovered substance weighed approximately 2.479 kg. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
