“The department has released the fund as per SDRF norms,” Shylla said while replying to a question raised by VPP legislator from Mawryngkneng Heaving Stone Kharpran in the Assembly.

Earlier, Shylla informed that the government has given relief assistance to Midaris Pde of Kut village amounting to Rs 1,30, as per SDRF norms.

“No, relief assistance has not been given to Riburom Kharrngi of Puriang. However, an amount of Rs 1,30,000 has been provided as relief to the owner of the house Helpme Kharrngi,” he said.

In his supplementary reply, the chief minister Conrad K Sangma said the SDRF norms are very clear and  based on that most of the concerns are addressed when question was asked if additional fund can be released by the government.

He however said legislators can extent financial assistance from the SRWP scheme or discretionary grants. “On a case to case basis, we as a government do intervene,” Sangma added.
