Two youths abducted in gunpoint in Thoubal, one found dead

Imphal, May 16: Two young men were abducted by a group of miscreants at gunpoint in Manipur’s Thoubal district. The victims were identified as Moinam Md Tomba(20) and Md Farid Khan alias Boycha(20), residents of Keibung Mathak Keikai.

According to reports, they were abducted at gunpoint around 5 pm on Monday. Tomba was found dead on Wednesday evening. In a swift response, the police nabbed ten individuals believed to be responsible for Tomba’s death and recovered the other youth.

The other youth, Boycha is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Imphal. The arrested include Salman Khurshid (29), Md. Manjur (39), Hawaibam Chester (29), Sinam Aimsum (28), Oinam Leonando Meitei (25), Md. Majinur (19), Elangbam Gobin Singh (33), Yangkhubam Rajia(22), Md. Azam Khan(32), and Silvia(19).

“We have arrested ten people in connection with the abduction. We have started an investigation into the matter. The motive behind this crime remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing,” said a police official.
