Two IAF pilots killed after Su-30MKI fighter jet crashes in Assam’s Karbi Anglong

Guwahati, Mar 6 : The Indian Air Force (IAF) has confirmed the death of Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar after their Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district during a routine training mission on March 5.

According to the IAF, the aircraft had taken off from the air force station in Jorhat at around 6:45 pm and lost radar contact with ground control at approximately 7:42 pm, triggering an immediate search and rescue operation.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, the IAF said it stands firmly with the bereaved families during this difficult time and extended its heartfelt condolences.
