Tura, Aug 16: A mesmerizing symphony echoed through the hallowed halls of the District Auditorium in Tura, as the West Garo Hills District Administration joined hands with Meghalaya Tourism to present an unforgettable music event to the public.
Themed as “Musical Rendition,” an exquisite celebration of the 77th Independence Day unfolded under the evening sky. The event, a melodic gift to the community, commenced at the bewitching twilight hours, casting a harmonious spell that entranced all in attendance.
The presence of Jagdish Chelani, the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, and Ava Shereen S Sangma, the District Tourism Officer, among other officials, added a touch of elegance to the evening’s festivities.
Stepping onto the stage, artists and bands hailing from the illustrious Tura Music Academy painted the air with the hues of timeless melodies. Their renditions of classic English and Garo songs, once sung by revered maestros, carried the audience on a nostalgic journey. A harmonious fusion of voices arose as the crowd spontaneously joined in, rendering heartfelt tributes to the musicians’ craft.
This musical soirée served as a serene culmination to a series of vibrant events orchestrated by the West Garo Hills District Administration across various locales in Tura throughout the day, commemorating the 77th Independence Day.
