Shillong, Sept 27: Three highway robbers were arrested after they robbed a truck driver in East Jaintia Hills District.
The incident took place on Monday night when the three robbers had waylaid a passing truck and robbed the driver of his phone and money, police said.
On being tipped off, the district police immediately swung into action and were able to arrest the highway Robbers within a few hours of the incident and seized one mobile phone, cash of Rs 4500 and Alto 800 maruti car, used in the committing of the offence.
A case has been registered and necessary action has been taken as per law, police said.
