Shillong, Jan 25: Rangdajied United FC delivered a resounding 6-0 victory over Nongrim Hills SC in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League (SPL) 2024 at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, on Saturday. Earlier in the day, Nangkiew Irat SC secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Langsning FC.

Rangdajied started with an explosive attack, netting two goals within the first ten minutes through Owanijuh Pajuh (6′) and Arlangky Nongsiej (9′). The first-half onslaught continued with Dibormi Kassar (26′) adding to the tally, followed by a second goal from Pajuh (34′), leaving Nongrim Hills reeling by halftime.

In the second half, the dominance persisted. Aenam Jyrwa’s precise cross was tapped in by Freddy B Jyrwa (68′), and Manbhakupar Iawphniaw (77′) sealed the rout with a brilliant solo effort, sprinting from his own half to finish past the goalkeeper. Rangdajied had previously won the reverse fixture on November 8, but by a much narrower margin of 1-0.

In the day’s earlier match between Nangkiew Irat SC and Langsning FC, the latter took the lead through Rhitso Mero (25′), who scored in his debut for the team. Langsning appeared set to avenge their 3-1 defeat to Nangkiew Irat in the reverse fixture on October 29. However, in stoppage time, Jefferson Pakyntein (90’+2) equalized for Nangkiew Irat, rescuing a point and sparking relief among his teammates.

The next OC Blue SPL 2024 match is scheduled for Tuesday, where Sawmer SC will take on Laitkor SC at 2:30 PM. Laitkor had won their previous encounter 2-0 on October 28.
