Shillong, Mar 1: In a tragic accident, one truck driver was killed after his truck rammed into another truck at Mawdiangum (Shillong-Guwahati lane) National Highway-6 early Friday morning.
The deceased was driving a truck bearing registration number AS-01-RC-1762 and due to high speed, crashed into the rear of another truck bearing registration number ML-11-A-1440.
According to reports, the driver of the Assam registered truck was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by other drivers and police.
After nearly half an hour of extraction, the driver was taken out and taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital but unfortunately was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The hospital authorities are keeping the body for legal formalities.
