Smit Blast Case: Traces of IED found at the blast site

Shillong, July 26: The Superintendent of Police (City), Vivek Syiem, has informed that as per the findings from the reports of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) traces of IED were found at the blast site that happened on July 3, 2023, at Lumkynsai at Smit.

One person, identified as Pynsuklang Khongwir, lost his life in the blast. A day after, the Meghalaya Police has constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate the blast.

However, as per the reports, traces of IED were found, but the real question is who supplied the explosives to the person as he has been reported to have been bedridden for several months, said SP Syiem.

Investigation is on to find on who supplied with the explosives, he further informed.
