Shillong, Jan 01: Shillong bid farewell to 2023 in style, creating a night to remember as Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston took center stage, keeping the Polo Ground alive with his infectious beats.

“Somebody call 911; Shawty fire burning on the dance floor” echoed at the countdown, setting the tone for an unforgettable 2023 New Year’s Eve celebration.

Sean Kingston ignited the crowd with his chart-topping hit “Fire Burning,” turning the Polo Ground into a dance floor ablaze with energy. The 33-year-old singer then entertained the audience with his timeless anthem, “Beautiful Girls,” uniting everyone in song and celebration as they embraced the arrival of the new year.

In true Shillong fashion, the New Year’s Party organized by Rockski not only featured international mega-stars like Sean Kingston but also provided a platform for local talents to shine. DJ Favian and DJ Zethan from Shillong took the stage, adding their unique beats to the vibrant atmosphere.

Yet, it was Sean Kingston who stole the spotlight, greeted by thunderous cheers from the partygoers. Performing a medley of his greatest hits, he transported the crowd back to the golden years of 2008–2009, when his music dominated the entire world. The memories flooded back, and the crowd enthusiastically sang along, reliving the era when Sean Kingston’s songs were the anthem of their youth.

The nostalgia reached its peak when he started singing his hit song collaboration with Justin Bieber, “Eenie Meenie.” The infectious beats of the song resonated with every teenager in the crowd, as they once did when the track ruled the airwaves. Sean Kingston’s voice became a time machine, transporting partygoers to their carefree teenage years and creating an enchanting atmosphere at Polo Ground.

As the clock struck midnight, Shillong’s revelers found themselves immersed in a wave of euphoria, bidding farewell to 2023 on a perfect note.
