Shillong, Oct 11: In the ongoing fight against vices in the city, East Khasi Hills district Police has had a major success against sale of illicit liquor within the city limits.
In a raid conducted under Polo area of Sadar Police station, the raiding team seized around 115 litres of IMFL and 162 litres of beer. The due process is being followed post the seizure, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said on Friday.
This is a part of the ongoing efforts to keep the festive season free from trouble, he said.
The district administration of East Khasi Hills has declared Friday and Saturday as dry days, being the 9th and 10th day of the ongoing Durga Puja celebrations.
