Retd. IFS officer CP Marak sworn in as Meghalaya Lokayukta Chairperson

Shillong, May 30: Retired IFS officer CP Marak was sworn in as the new chairperson of the Meghalaya Lokayukta.

The oath of office to him was administered by the Governor CH Vijayashankar during a ceremony held in presence of chief secretary DP Wahlang, senior government officials and other dignitaries at the Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Marak was a retired Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) of Meghalaya in June 2019, he is also the Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), he is very active even post-retirement and till recent.

He brings with him a wealth of experience in public service, having served with distinction as a senior officer of the Indian Forest Service.

Congratulating Marak on his assumption of office, the governor expressed confidence in his ability to uphold the values of justice, integrity, fairness and strengthen the institutional mechanisms of transparency, accountability and Corruption free within the state.
