Shillong, Nov 7: The winter is here and as the chill sweeps through the clobbered and quaint roads of Shillong, creating an enchanting ambience through the hills of the city, much to the envy of poets, writers and tourists alike, a new haven of warmth and flavour has emerged at the heart of this magical hill station.
Located at the bustling GS Road in Police Bazar area, the heart of Shillong, the ‘Cherrry Bean Café’ has opened its door to food enthusiasts, adding a touch of extra flavour and warmth this winter.
The grand inauguration on Tuesday was graced by renowned Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and his wife Patraleka Paul. The café brings an extra layer of personal connection for Rao as the actor’s wife, Patraleka Paul, is a native of Shillong. The café is owned by Rao’s brother-in-law, Agnish Paul.
“Shillong is my second home, I always love coming back here, we have this beautiful cafe now and we want all the people, the locals and tourists alike, to come enjoy the cafe as it is one of its kind,” said the Bollywood actor.
Embracing the spirit of the season, the café exudes a cozy ambiance that is perfect for people to escape the cold and indulge in a hot cup of coffee with a delectable assortment of continental delights. With its vibrant interiors, ambient lighting, and comfortable seating, Cherrry Bean Café promises an experience that transcends the boundaries of ordinary cafes.
From their signature cheesy burgers to mouthwatering hotdogs and perfectly seasoned fries, every dish is a testament to the culinary expertise behind this venture. The café’s specialty coffees, expertly brewed to perfection, provide a delightful accompaniment to the delectable fare.
Rao expressed his enthusiasm for the newly established cafe, highlighting the cafe’s inclusivity. He remarked that The Cherrry Bean Cafe offers a versatile space for all, providing a place to relax, socialize, and even work while relishing delicious food and enjoying lively music.
Rajkummar Rao has appeared in more than 30 Hindi movies since 2010 such as Stree, Badhaai Do and Shadi Mein Zaroor Aana. He is recipient of several accolades including a National Film Award, four Filmfare Awards and an Asia Pacific Screen Award. In 2017, he appeared on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list.
Patraleka, Rajkummar Rao’s wife, has also appeared in several films after making her acting debut with drama film CityLights (2014), for which she won the Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female. Patralekha made her web debut with Bose: Dead/Alive (2017), receiving iReel Award for Best Actress (Drama) nomination. She has also appeared in the film Nanu Ki Jaanu (2018) and the web series, Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu (2021) and Aar Ya Paar (2022).
