Police Seize Over 340 Anti-Aircraft Live Ammunition in South Garo Hills Jungle Raid

SHILLONG, APR 25: Over 340 anti-aircraft live ammunition and four ammunition boxes were recovered from a jungle in South Garo Hills on Thursday morning.

The recovered items were seized by Chokpot police at the spot after acting on inputs received from a reliable source to the effect that some ammunition boxes were kept hidden by suspected militants somewhere in the jungle of Chibokgre village under Chokpot police station, South Garo Hills District, police said.

Immediately at around 1:15 am, one team led by SDPO Chokpot, accompanied by CI Sadar, OC Chokpot, I/C BDDS, and 3 police personnel, proceeded towards the suspected area to conduct a search for the hidden ammunition. At around 3:27 am, they unearthed the hidden 340 anti-aircraft live ammunition and four ammunition boxes from Chikbokgre jungle, they said.

While a large Cache of ammunition has been recovered, the question remains is where are the weapons?
