Shillong, July 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday morning announced that the government will establish fast-track courts to ensure swift trials and stringent punishment for those involved in examination paper leak cases, amid the ongoing protest by students at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding action over alleged examination irregularities.
In a post on social media, Modi said he has directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps to implement the decision, describing it as part of the government’s continued efforts to safeguard the interests of students.
“We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks,” the Prime Minister said.
He asserted that those attempting to jeopardise the future of young people would face strict consequences.
“Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” Modi said.
The announcement comes as students continue their agitation at Jantar Mantar, demanding accountability over alleged examination paper leaks and other recruitment-related irregularities.
The protests have drawn support from several student organisations and public figures, with demonstrators calling for systemic reforms to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process.
