SHILLONG, JUL 24: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Friday said the state government will soon begin recruitment to fill more than 700 vacant posts of teachers in government lower primary schools across Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters, Rymbui said the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) is being conducted on Friday, which is a key step in the recruitment process.
“We have 700 plus teacher vacancies only in government lower primary schools. The recruitment will be out very soon,” the minister said.
Rymbui also addressed vacancies in aided schools, noting that recruitment in several of these institutions has not taken place for the last few years.
“There are also some vacancies in the aided schools in which recruitment has not happened for the last few years. We will give permission on a case to case basis so recruitment will start in a few months time,” he added.
