NDPS case: two sentenced to 6 years rigorous imprisonment

SHILLONG, OCT 30: Two persons identified as Marvinson Jyrwa and Skhemkupar Massar were convicted and sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment for offenses committed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

A judgment delivered by the Court of E Shabong, Special Judge (NDPS), East Khasi Hills on October 27 said the two accused are sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 years and to pay fine of Rs 60,000 and in default of fine, further rigorous imprisonment of 1 year for offence punishable under section 21(b) 29 NDPS Act R/w sec 77 Juvenile Justice Act.

The case, registered under Landiengiri PS Case No. 16(02)2017, was investigated by UBSI Anderson Jyrwa.
