Jowai, Sept 08: In a heartwarming ceremony, D. Laloo, the President of the Meghalaya People United Front (MPUF), inaugurated the newly constructed house of Pynsakhiat Dkhar, a resident of Loomsohsale, Kynrongtuber, West Jaiñtia Hills. The event was attended by a small gathering of well-wishers and community members in the compound of the new house.
This remarkable initiative stemmed from the village heads witnessing the dire living conditions faced by Pynsakhiat and her family. Their previous dwelling was not conducive for habitation, especially during the monsoon season. Additionally, Pynsakhiat, who tragically lost her husband several years ago, is now single-handedly responsible for the well-being of her five children.
Responding to this, D. Laloo decided to take action and allocate funds for the construction project.
The inauguration ceremony was conducted with solemnity and gratitude by Pastor D. Tang, along with village heads, relatives of the Dkhar family, and members of the MPUF.
The construction of Pynsakhiat’s new home commenced on March 9, 2023, and was completed at a total cost of Rs 3 lakh.
Pynsakhiat expressed her heartfelt gratitude to D. Laloo and the MPUF for their generous support. She fondly re-collected the challenging moments when she and her children had to seek refuge with her neighbors during the heavy monsoon rains. With the new house, Pynsakhiat and her family can now look forward to a brighter and more secure future she said.
