Shillong, Oct 3: The decomposed body of a young girl who went missing from Marbisu village was found on Monday afternoon in a gorge in Traw village, near Marbisu under Mawngap Police Station. The body was recovered by the police on Tuesday.

The young girl has been identified as Phibankyntiew Sun, aged 18, and a student of class IX.

There is no information regarding the cause of Phibankyntiew’s death. Due to the narrowness of the gorge, the body could only be recovered by Tuesday afternoon.

It should be mentioned that two youths, a female aged 18 years and a male aged 20 years, have been missing from their homes since September 20, 2023. They were last seen around 5 pm at their home in Marbisu Village, near Mawphlang.

The boy, Wanboklang Kurbah, is still missing.
