MHRC takes suo motu cognizance of JNV student’s death

Shillong, July 30: The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of the tragic death of Nathaniel Sohtun, Class XI student of Jawahar Navodaya (JNV), while preparing to take bath at the school hostel.

The Commission has directed the Principal of JNV and the Chairman cum Managing Director, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (MePDCL) to submit a detailed report into the incident on or before August 16.
