Shillong, June 28: In a shocking incident, a couple was found lying in a pool of blood inside their house at Kyrdemkulai village in Ri-Bhoi District.
According to reports, the incident is said to have occured on the night of June 25.
The wife, identified as Beena Sunar succumbed to her injuries while her husband was found breathing but in critical state.
The husband, Keshab Sunar, has been named as the prime accused in the case.
Soon Keshab Sunar was rushed to Umsning CHC for medical treatment but looking at his critical condition, he was soon referred to Shillong civil hospital.
Meanwhile, the body of the woman was transferred to Nongpoh civil hospital for medico-legal procedures.
Police have also seized the alleged weapons used in the attack from the incident site.
A post-mortem was also conducted on the victim’s body before it was handed over to the family for the last rites.
An FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
