Meghalaya voter count rises to 22.69 Lakh: Over 52,000 new voters, EKH highest number of voters

Shillong , Jan 6: The state of Meghalaya has a total of 22,69512 voters as on January 6. There is an increase of 52,412 new voters when compared to last year’s total electors at 22,40,499.

Of this, 11,50,599 are female voters, 11,18,907 male voters and 6 third gender voters, state’s chief electoral officer (CEO) BDR Tiwari told reporters on Monday.

He said there are 3,764 service voters of which 3,673 are males and 91 are females adding that the EP ratio as on January 6 is 645 while the electors gender ratio is 1,028.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of voters at 3,20,553 while South West Khasi Hills has the lowest with 38,742 voters.

Further, electors of the age group 18-19 is 72,941, 85+ electors are 10,398 and persons with disabilities (PwD) electors are 11,960.

Also, names of over 8,936 voters have been deleted from the electoral rolls due to death, 7,775 due to shifting and 385 due to duplicate entries.

31,372 of 32500 forms were accepted for corrections.

The CEO also informed that now there are 3551 polling stations when compared during the 2024 general elections to the Lok Sabha at 3512.
