Shillong, Oct 29: The Meghalaya High Court has disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) after normalcy has been restored in the functioning of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Soumen Sen and Justice W Diengdoh was informed on Tuesday (October 28) that the Non-Gazetted Employees Association (NGEA) of the GHADC, represented by respondent No 5, was no longer disrupting the functioning of the District Council.
The association assured the court that it would not disrupt the normal functioning of the GHADC in any manner.
The PIL, filed by Tokyo R. Marak, was disposed of in view of the restored normalcy, with the court recording the assurance of the NGEA.
