Meghalaya CM hands-over ₹40 Crore to JHADC as advance coal royalty

Shillong, Jan 22: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday handed over ₹40 crore to the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) as an advance royalty share from coal.

The funds were received by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of JHADC, Thombor Shiwat, who expressed his gratitude to the State Government for releasing the much-needed financial assistance. These funds will enable the District Council to clear 12 months of pending salaries for its employees.

The handover ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar, along with other government officials.
