Shillong, April 23: Giving an update on the disbursement status of the Post-Matric Scholarship for ST students for the academic year 2023-24, Meghalaya’s Commissioner & Secretary in-charge Education, Vijay Kumar Mantri, on Wednesday informed that 11,858 out of 13,719 pending beneficiaries have had their payment files successfully generated and submitted to the bank for processing, as of date.
He said the concerned bank has been formally requested to expedite the transfer of funds to ensure timely credit to the beneficiaries’ accounts, adding that for the remaining 1,861 beneficiaries, discrepancies in Aadhaar-Bank account linkage have been identified.
“To address this, an SMS notification was sent to the affected students on April 22, 2025, requesting them to complete the necessary verification process within 15 days to facilitate the release of their scholarships,” he added.
Students are also requested in case of any query, to dial CM CONNECT helpline number ‘1971’ or ‘18003456851’ or Department numbers 7005037347/ 9077574956.
