The Tourism Department issued the order to facilitate implementation of the scheme, which is aimed at supporting local beneficiaries, particularly unemployed youth and rural residents, in creating livelihood and income-generation opportunities through homestays.

The order was issued by C.S. Khongwir, Joint Secretary to the Meghalaya government’s Tourism Department, and circulated to the Director of Tourism, all Deputy Commissioners, the Chairman of Meghalaya Rural Bank and tourist officers for information and necessary action.
