Man found dead with multiple injuries on AMPT Road in Tikrikilla

Tura, Nov 5: In a late report, the body of a man with multiple injuries was found along Agia-Medipara-Phulbari-Tura (AMPT) road, West Garo Hills district on Monday morning.

According to police reports, Tikrikilla Police Station received information at around 4:30 AM on November 3 that an individual was lying on the roadside.

A police team then rushed to the location and found that the man had already succumbed to his injuries before medical aid could arrive.

The deceased has been identified as Dipok R. Marak, son of (L) Jakop Sangma and a resident of Upper Khamari, Tikrikilla. Dipok had been serving as the Organising Secretary of the Tikrikilla Regional Unit of ACHIK from 1998 until his passing.

Police confirmed that the body bore multiple injuries and it has since been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

A case has been registered at Tikrikilla Police Station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on an FIR lodged by the deceased’s wife, Phudim Sangma.

Further investigation is underway.
