Shillong, Oct 30: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) achieved a major breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, as another drug trafficker was arrested in a follow-up operation in Nongmynsong. This development comes as a continuation of the arrest of two individuals on October 24, 2023, in the same area.

The recent arrest was carried out by ANTF EKH (East Khasi Hills) from Bagmara, South Garo Hills. The operation was a part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal drug trade that poses a significant threat to the community’s well-being.

On further investigation and based on information provided by the arrested individual, ANTF EKH executed a search operation at his rented residence in Nongrim Hills. During the search, law enforcement officers discovered a total of 23.56 grams of heroin, concealed in two soap cases.

The arrest and the subsequent seizure of heroin reflect the commitment of law enforcement agencies to root out drug-related crimes and to ensure the safety and security of the region’s residents.
