Konyak Union declares public emergency in all Konyak Union jurisdiction

Nagaland, Mar 7: The Konyak Union has declared a public emergency across all Konyak Union (KU) jurisdictions after the delayed response from government of India regarding creation of Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) through the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

As per the directives of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), the KU declares a Public Emergency to protest the delay in settling the offer for the creation of Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) by the Gol through the MHA.

As a next phase of protest the union I tends to intensify the demand for FNT, there will be a dawn-to-dusk ban all over Mon district on 08th March 2024, with the following exemptions, for students appearing board examinations, wedding, medical emergencies, fire and emergency services, and the media will be exempted. The Konyak Union urged all citizens of Mon district to strictly adhere to the declaration of public emergency.

“The protest will be followed by more rigorous and intensive protest until the demand for FNT is fulfilled as assured by the Gol. During this period of public emergency, there shall be no election campaigns by any political party(s) within Mon district jurisdiction. Any individual, group, or party failing to adhere to this call shall do so at their own risk,” stated Konyak Union.

The Konyak Union announced the strict implementation of the Chen Moho Resolution, which mandates the abstention from participating in any central or state Assembly elections until the offer for the creation of FNT is settled by the Gol through the MHA.
