He filed  his nomination before the returning officer (RO) at Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Mawlai-Mawiong.

Speaking to reporters, Lakadong said that he does not see any anti-incumbency factor working against his party, which is leading the executive committee (EC) in the KHADC.

“This is because we done so many things in the Council. We have passed so many Bills. We have worked together with the DCA department and the Governor. I would like to thank the Governor for have granted his assent on so many pending Bills.”

Unlike the JHADC and GHADC, the EM said, “Till now, in our KHADC, salary was never pending.”

Expressing confidence that the NPP will come back to power in KHADC, Lakadong said, “We have full faith that we will form the new EC.”

“All our sitting MDCs are doing their part and working so hard that everything goes well. They were there for the people so I have full faith that all our candidates will win,” he added.
