SHILLONG, OCT 14: KHADC Chief Executive Member Winston Tony Lyngdoh on Wednesday mourned the passing of former council member and legislator S Galmendarsingh Lyngdoh.
In a condolence message tabled in the Council, Lyngdoh said, “The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council expresses its deep and profound sorrow on the demise of Bah S Galmendarsingh Lyngdoh and has deemed it necessary to place on record the loss of yet another former Member of the House.”

The CEM informed that Lyngdoh breathed his last on August 22, 2026. He had represented 11-Shella constituency as MDC three times — in 1972, 1979 and 1984 — and served as Executive Member during his tenure.
He was also elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 1983.
“As a Member of the House and the Meghalaya State Assembly, he contributed immensely for the growth, development and welfare of the council, the constituency, the district and the state as a whole,” the CEM said.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family, Lyngdoh said the Council stands with the family in this hour of grief and prayed for peace.
“May God of peace be with you to give comfort to the bereaved family and may his soul attain eternal rest,” he said, adding that a copy of the condolence message will be sent to the family
