Jowai, Oct 4: The JHADC staff under the banner of Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council Staff Employee Association (JHADCSAE) on Wednesday organised an agitation at the JHADC premises to demand release of their last 10 months of salary, which has been pending since December 2022.

It may be reminded that the office bearers of the association on July 2022 had to apologise before the Executive Committee of the Council after their agitation because Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma had promised to release their salaries before the Behdieñkhlam Festival.

JHADCSAE president Johnson Pohrmen informed that they were forced to apologise in order that their salary amounting to Rs. 35 Crores will be released in a few days.

However, they haven’t received their salary for months even after Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar visited the Council and assured to release their salary.

The association has decided that they won’t back down from their agitation until their demands are met and they are willing to face any kind of punishment.
