Shillong, July 10: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, will host the IICA North-East Conclave 2025 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong on July 11–12. Themed “From Ideation to Incorporation,” the two-day flagship event is designed to catalyze innovation, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development across the North-Eastern region.
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the event in the presence of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, and Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Other dignitaries attending include Donald Phillips Wahlang, Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, and Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, DG & CEO of IICA.
The Conclave will serve as a policy and collaboration platform for regional entrepreneurship, focusing on key enablers such as regulatory guidance, incubation models, funding pathways, and skill-linked employment strategies. High-level representation is expected from institutions like IIM Shillong, STPI, SIDBI, NSIC VC Fund Ltd., DFS, NABARD, PNB, SBICAPS, NSE, BSE, ICAI, ICSI, and ICMAI.
Sitharaman will lay the foundation stone for the upcoming IICA North-East Regional Campus in Shillong, envisioned as a centre for advanced corporate governance, compliance training, and entrepreneurship capacity building.
To further strengthen institutional synergies, IICA will sign seven strategic MoUs with key institutions including Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), IIM Shillong, STPI, ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, and National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. These partnerships aim to enhance knowledge exchange, regulatory compliance, and regional incubation support.
The event is being organized in collaboration with key program partners such as PRIME Meghalaya, SBI, PNB, SIDBI, NEC, STPI, NSE, BSE, ICAI, ICSI, and ICMAI.
One of the highlights of the conclave will be a Startup Exhibition featuring 39 startups, FPOs, financial institutions, and incubators from across the North-East. The exhibition will spotlight grassroots innovation and offer networking opportunities with investors and ecosystem enablers.
