New Delhi, Jan 27: In a historic event marking the 75th Republic Day celebrations, an all-girl contingent and band of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) made their debut march on Kartavya Path.

A notable moment unfolded on the 75th Republic Day as 148 cadets, part of an all-girl contingent from various regions, took center stage on Kartavya Path. Senior Under Officer Punnya Ponnamma, hailing from the Kar and Goa Directorate, led the impressive group, showcasing the leadership skills and unity within the NCC. The event highlighted the NCC’s stature as one of the world’s largest youth uniformed organisations, with nearly 17 lakh cadets enrolled.

Adding a musical touch to the 75th Republic Day celebrations, the NCC band, featuring members from NCC Girls Birla Balika Vidya Peeth, Pilani, Rajasthan, and NCC girls from the northeastern region, played the iconic ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha’ tune. The spirited performance was led by senior under officers Yashasvica Gaur and Ankita Sharma.

Following the musical display, another all-girl marching contingent, led by Senior Under Officer Tanu Tevatia from UP Directorate, continued to showcase the strength and unity within the NCC.
