Guwahati businessman Kumar Gaurav found dead at home

Guwahati, July 21: Kumar Gaurav, a prominent businessman and owner of multiple companies in Guwahati, was found dead at his Noonmati residence on Sunday. Gaurav, a nominated (non-official) member of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), was known for his extensive business ventures, owning 17 companies spanning the engineering, power, tractor, auto, and finance sectors.

Gaurav lived with his fourth wife at their Noonmati home, where his body was found and later transported to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination.

His wife alleged, “He has been mentally tortured to death,” and called for a thorough investigation into the suspicious circumstances of his death. She disclosed that during their last phone conversation, Gaurav repeatedly mentioned, “This woman has mentally tortured me.”

Family members, including relatives from Bihar, have gathered at GMCH. The police have yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of death or any potential investigation.
