According to the GSU, the aspirants from East Garo Hills currently face a lot of hardships, having to either go to Tura or Shillong to give their MPSC examination and interviews.

GSU’s East Zone president Saljrang T.R. Marak on Monday informed that the GSU has submitted a memorandum to all the locality leaders of East Garo Hills district on the need to set up the MPSC cell in Williamnagar by stating that the headquarter of East Garo Hills has completed 28 years as a town but till date, it remains without an MPSC cell.

They also informed that, for improving the performance and alleviate the challenges in the elementary school education, it is essential to restructure or reorganise the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET), which is supposed to be under process to set up in the district at the earliest.
