SHILLONG, MAR 18: The district magistrate has extended the curfew across West Garo Hills from 6 am on 19 March to 6 am on 20 March, while allowing a relaxation from 6 am to 6 pm on 19 March for public movement and normal functioning of offices, banks and schools.

In the order issued Wednesday, the district magistrate Vibhor Aggarwal said the continuation of stringent preventive measures was necessary after incidents of violence threatened human life, public safety and property.

During relaxation hours, institutions will operate normally, but no movement is permitted outside residences at other times.
