Shillong, July 5: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday congratulated Indian Football team for winning the SAFF Championship 2023.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also congratualated team India for defeating Kuwait in the final of SAFF Championship 2023 and winning the trophy.

The Indian men’s football team won the SAFF Championship 2023 title on Tuesday after beating Kuwait 5-4 in a thrilling penalty shootout at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
India won their ninth SAFF Championship 2023 in the 14 editions. Last month, India clinched the Intercontinental Cup.
So far, India won the championship in 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2021 and in 2023.
