Conrad launches Sainik Welfare Portal, addresses crucial agendas at 24th Rajya Sainik board meeting

Shillong, Oct 30: In a momentous occasion, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the official website of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, during the 24th Rajya Sainik Board meeting, held at the Secretariat in Shillong on Monday.

The 24th Rajya Sainik Board meeting was convened to address critical issues concerning the well-being of military personnel and their families in the state. Key agendas discussed during the meeting included the progress of the construction of the Sainik Rest House in Shillong, the establishment of Zila Sainik Board and a Sainik Rest House in Tura, the sanctioning of welfare organiser officers, cash grants to gallantry award recipients, the induction of skilled technical personnel, and the establishment of a Sainik school within the state. The meeting also covered the release of grants and ex gratia payments.

Taking to X, CM Conrad wrote, “attended the meeting of the 24th Rajya Sainik Board. Discussed matters related to the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, setting up of Sainik Schools, construction of various infrastructure and other matters ”

Other prominent figures, including Leader of the Opposition, Ronnie V Lyngdoh, and Chief Secretary, D P Wahlang, alongside other crucial stakeholders were also present in the meeting.
